Halloween is a celebration of Western and more
traditional Christianity, with a three-day celebration on the night of October 31st.
Many people celebrate this night with painted faces, quirky costumes or
celebrities, faces and looks that look scary; children go home to collect
spoons and nuts. The celebration was brought by Irish and Scottish immigrants
to the Americas in the 19th century.
One of the Halloween symbols is a pumpkin that
empties into it, making the eyes, eyebrows and mouth scary, giving it a scary
look by lighting the candle inside the pumpkin.
In many parts of the world, Christian rituals are performed, including
attending churches and prayers by lighting candles on the graves of the dead, although
elsewhere it is a secular celebration, and it is commercially viable. Some
Christians throughout history have been refusing to eat meat at night these
days, a tradition of eating special foods on this day that revive nightlife,
eating apples and apples. Ground and pancake or cake of the soul.
Halloween is all about having fun, laughing, joking
and enjoying this night (31st October) with friends and family
members; it is also mention-able to say that 31st October is also a
joyful night for kids and children who are as waiting as elders for this night
for having fun.
Halloween shows are some of the official West Coast
stores that you can enjoy on the night of October 2. That you can change your
outfit this evening, change it into a weird and unusual outfit, and you can
choose your own home for collecting plants and agile. Halloween is more common
in members, Ireland, Scotland and Canada. The celebration was brought by Irish
and Scottish immigrants to the continent in the 10th century.
Do you know the
Halloween Background?!
The sheer volume of the media, its ease of access
and its influence on the lives of people around the world, have provided the
opportunity for today's human beings to recognize the cultural characteristics
of people around the world. In any case, while emphasizing the preservation of
the beautiful and meaningful traditions of our civilization and our beloved
country, we draw your attention to what Halloween has become one of these
traditions.
Some cheerful customs have been implemented in some
Asian countries over the past few years, specially now a days in Afghanistan
also and this is a good thing because they are implemented - albeit in a very
small way, at home, school and kindergarten - to However, it can be an excuse
for people to be happy and bad on the other hand, because we usually just copy
the appearance of movies or satellite channels without knowing the origin of
the event, which is a hundred times more gratifying. As old were saying,
"the crow wants to learn to walk as a Partridge (a kind of mountain bird which walks so
cute), he forgets to walk himself".
Halloween History and
Customs
Do you know what this night is all about, it is all
about having fun with friends and family, laughing and joking about the big and
the little ones waiting for it?
The date goes back more than 2,000 years, and its beginning has been
very serious indeed. The night of October 31, known as Halloween (the two-word
Halloween combination of Hallow which means holy and E'en, which means Evening,
in Irish accent simply we can say that Halloween means Holy Evening), is rooted
in Celtic customs (the earliest inhabitants of the British Isles) and its
customs more than Ireland and Scotland has come.
This night was originally based on a religious
celebration that has been customary since the ninth century AD and has been
called "All Hallows Day". On this day, November 1, Christians
celebrate All Saints Day in honor of All Saints Day, and Halloween is the night
before.
But this
night's tradition goes back a long way to a Celtic holiday. More than 2,000
years ago, the Celtic monks, called Druid, founded a festival called Samhain,
believing that this night the gate would be opened between the two worlds and
that the God of the world of the dead with spirits, goblins and demons It comes
to earth.
The Celts were dressed in animal skins this night,
wearing their heads like a hat to hide from the evil spirits, making drums and
objects such as boilers and metal plates, making sounds to escape goblins and
demons. . In the meantime the monks were selling fire and sacrificing to calm
the spirits.
Today, the popular colors of Halloween, orange and
black, are a sign of the monks' fire color in the dark night sky. Wearing disguises
has also gone from wearing animal skins to costumes like witches, monsters,
celebrities and whatever you can imagine. On the other hand, in addition to the
effect of the event, the Roman Harvest Day Festival, which began in the first
century AD, especially the celebration of the Pomona, the Goddess of fruit, has
greatly influenced the Halloween celebration.
Apples running through the water and running
through the labyrinths of the corn fields, and of course the various uses that
are made of pumpkin, all signify a Roman feast in which they celebrate a good
harvest.
Trick-Or-Treat!
One of the most common Halloween rituals is
trick-or-treat and is very similar to our own spoon, in that people -
especially children - go into small groups at home and say trick-or-treat means
That is: "Give something so we don't bother" and the landlord who
puts out food for that occasion puts things in their basket.
It is a remake of what happened in the days of the
All Saints, during which the poor would go to the door of the rich and receive
money or food from them, and if anyone refused to help them, the evil spirits
would they came to her and destroyed his/her home.
Orange pumpkin, broomstick immortal...
Jack-o'-lantern: Orange pumpkins cut in different shapes and with
candles inside, seen as Halloween night lanterns, are called Jack Lanterns and
have a Celtic background.
According to the story, a man named Jack was
sentenced to wander the world after his death. He had a lantern that was carved
on a horseradish and was known as Jack lantern.
In Ireland and Scotland these lanterns are still made of horseradish,
but the Irish settlers, upon arriving in the United States, found the pumpkin
to be more appropriate and beautiful, and after a while the large, beautiful
pumpkins replaced the horseradish.
Sorcerers with Flying
broom and Black Cat:
In the Middle Ages, there was a great fear of
wizards. Especially when people believed that magicians could go everywhere
with their flying broomsticks and meet evil spirits. Some also referred to the
black cat as a wizard who transformed or even died back to life.
In Celtic beliefs, one has to say to someone who
sneezes: God protect! "God bless you". Because they believe that when
sneezing, the spirit is thrown out of the body, and on Halloween night, one
must be careful not to be slaughtered if someone sneezes to say "God
forbid" so that the devil will conquer their souls.
The word Halloween or Halo reaches around 1745 and has a Christian
origin. The word "Hallowe'en" means "Holy Night." (The
evening before all days of reverence) has come. In Scottish, the word eve means
covenant. Over time, (all) Hallow (s) has evolved into Halloween. Although the
word "Halluz" is found in Old English, the word itself does not
appear until about 1556 years.

People in Afghanistan celebrate this International day and festival so they can
have fun and enjoy, they celebrate it in different ways, some go/hold parties
and some make or wear different kinds costumes as they wish.
But as world goes on the mentality of being racist
and color difference nor religious, the traditions which contain happiness and enjoyment
in it, it spreads so fast around the world as time pass.
As we humans face many challenge and obstacles in
our life and daily activities, the nature of humans are greedy to have fun and
enjoy life after all the hate days and hard works that they had. So as my point
of view every single event that sound fun, should be celebrated with friends
and family.
The people in Afghanistan apart from different skin
colors and religions celebrate this event by going to special Halloween events,
cooking different kind of meals and even do scary makeups and wear costumes and
enjoying their evening.

Today's Halloween customs seem to have been influenced by the Celtic
countries' customs and beliefs, some of which are believed to have roots in
idolatry. History Nicholas Rogers points out that in his search for Halloween
roots While "some folklorists have traced their roots to the Roman Pomona
celebration, the goddess of fruit and grain, or to the festivals of the dead
called Prentalia, these festivals mostly relate to the Seminole Festival in Old
Ireland for" the end of summer ".
For at least the 16th century, festivals in
Ireland, Scotland, the Isle of Man and Wales have included mummification and
guising. This included people who read house-to-house in local costumes,
usually singing verses or songs in exchange for food, Could be.
Today's Halloween customs also appear to be
influenced by and derived from Christian meanings and practices.
